Soake Pond

This trust was set up in 2001 following the death of my partner Richard Jones. Richard’s lifetime achievements were centred on freshwater fishery development and management. This was the result of a passion for fish, angling and the countryside which he developed as a child. He spent most of his spare time as an adult developing and maintaining fisheries, focusing on Soake Pond in Denmead, Hampshire, UK.

He had hoped to create a small pond of around 1 acre on wasteland adjacent to Soake pond which would be suitable for young and less able bodied members of the Hants and Sussex Anglers Alliance to fish. This land is already owned by the Alliance. Unfortunately, he died before his plans could be fulfilled.

Richard’s brother Dave and I set up this trust to raise money so that his plans can be realised. All money raised will go towards creating this pond which Richard had named "Little Owl."
